  3. If you're American, you can get 3 month tourist visas in most countries. You do have further restrictions, however, in Europe. You'd still have to file a tax return, but you can get over 6 figures tax free if you live outside the USA most of the year.

  46. As a Hurricane Katrina survivor, I want to mention MANY residents don't own cars. It's a geographically small city that is easy to get around without a car. And evacuating has its OWN set of risks. Working class folks can't afford to stay in hotels for days. I was planning on leaving town via Amtrak, but they closed it down earlier than I expected. I was in the Superdome.
