@vix121 Weird, its the third european Ford model (after fiesta and focus) that's going to be sold in USA exactly identical...

@vix121 Oh I always though Taurus is RWD..hm... weird. But no, EU Ford and American Ford are different. They until now made cars completely separately. EU Ford employed most german engineers and cars were fully developed in Koln, Germany. And all models developed for european market were not sold anywhere else, and were completely different than US Fords.

@vix121 If you understand what I'm trying to say. If you make a global model, then you need to involve all Ford divisions into development, not make EU Ford develop chassis, suspension, engines, gearboxes, body, safety gear, interior, and then let US division make a navigation system...and after that, US Ford will re-brand the car to Fusion and sell it as their own model. Like they did with Focus and Fiesta. They need to give something as well, not just take, otherwise its not ONE Ford.

@derbigpr500 Cars were completely different in design, technology, philosophy, quality...everything. If you put european ford and american ford next to each other, and took badges off, you would not be able to tell both cars are fords.

@vix121 I dont like this new Mondeo very much. Old Mondeo was nicer inside, it looked more modern than this "new" model. It had many details that made it special. In this new one too many buttons, which is what US Ford likes obviously, because they've done the same thing in new Focus. US Ford division only developed infotainment system for new Focus, and thats the part of the car that got the most critique in EU. Different market, different preferences.

@vix121 What they should have done with new mondeo, if they want to make a global model so badly, is lend the RWD system from Taurus and put it on Mondeo/Fusion. It would be much more competitive then. Even though, Mondeo with FWD has been tuned almost to perfection, cant get much better for a FWD car in terms of driving dynamics.

@vix121 Yea but, Ford in america should have the decency and admit that the cars they're selling were not developed by them, but by european ford division, which is entirely separated. And they dont do that. Same as buick doesnt do that even their Regal, which is a 100% copy of german Opel Insignia. They say its an american car, which its not. Thats why i dont like this type of car making. Also, you cant make a car that will be equally good for EU and US markets, since they're different.
