  1. It's because he often speaks complete rubbish and over-exaggerates things. For example, his rant about the "wobbly" cheap knobs for the sat nav is nonsense. The reason why that knob moves so much is because IT'S MEANT to do that, the knob doesn't just turn around the vertical axis to scroll through menus, it also moves in X and Y axis (like gamepad controllers for example) for more functions. It's TOTALLY different than the ones in the Audi he mentions which only rotate, so of course they don't move in other directions. Besides, they're not made out of cheap plastic AT ALL, the knob is actually made out of satin chrome, rubber and black gorilla glass. And it's obvious they're not trying to copy Audi as he said, because the knob is totally different in design and function. So, THAT is one of the reasons why people hate him.
