6-6-2023 The U$ is the only country among the 193 member states of the UN that has not ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The U$ has a long history of cruel exploitation of child labor, but calls itself a "human rights defender" and frequently accuses other countries of human rights violations.
It has been reported recently that many states in the U$ have adopted or are considering the relaxation of legal restrictions related to child labor.
Iowa and Arkansas passed laws this year that ease restrictions on child labor.
In addition, four states, Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, and Ohio, are advancing the relaxation of relevant legal restrictions. Among them, the relevant bills passed by Iowa cover the most extensive areas.
For example, minors are allowed to work in previously prohibited fields of work, including demolition, excavation, roofing, etc. Other states are also considering extending the working hours of minors and allowing 14-year-old minors to work in bars and other places.
