Johnson's stand on illegal immigration is a deal breaker. Illegal immigrants are in the US ILLEGALLY. Practically every other country in the world arrests and deports anyone in their country illegally. It is called Rule of Law. They do take jobs and reduce the wages in occupations they fill. Construction is one such industry where they suppress wages as well as doing very sub-par workmanship. As for peace candidates, I guess they forgot about Dr. Jill Stein. Also, Weld is pro-gun control which is anti-constitutional and pro government intrusion, not so Libertarian.

The argument that they don't want to do the work only applies at the current offered wage. If the business want them to work, they will increase the pay to encourage those unemployed to take those jobs. That's what the left want, an increase in wages. The left supporting illegal immigration/immigrants diametrically opposes their desire for an increase in wages.

If wages are pressured upwards, for those jobs, then that is what the free market dictates that those jobs should pay. Not all people have the mental capacity to do the more intellectually challenging jobs that require higher education. If you actually socialized with a wide cross section of people living in the US, you would know this. Someone with a sub-90 IQ isn't going to work for Apple unless it is to take out the trash or clean the toilet. Those same people usually have the capacity to do construction jobs, which due to illegal immigrants, have had their wages driven into the toilet. As for the pickers, the farmers would increase their wages which would attract labor. Or they would automate more. You do realize that the labor cost for vegetables/fruits is on the order of 8-10% of the cost you pay for it. The farmer's profit is around 12% with the rest going to middlemen.

Illegals are most definitely taking construction trades jobs and because most people are lazy morons who have no idea of quality workmanship and don't educate themselves, the illegals and the companies that hire them, ILLEGALLY, get away with doing a piss poor job. As for illegal immigrants, they start off on a bad foot when they flagrantly violate the law of the country the would like to become a citizen of. That is not a good sign. These are the jobs that I. personally, see being taken by illegals that work for 1/2 the rate because the employers know they can squeeze them due to their immigration status. As for blame, I blame the moron consumers who are too lazy to do a little research on their house project to know when a job is done properly and think that the little they save by going with a contractor who hires illegals won't affect the quality. These same people turn around and cry the blues when the finished result is garbage and or doesn't hold up. As for trade schools and technical colleges, they are a piss poor substitute for apprenticeships, which have gone the way of the dodo in the trades unfortunately.
