  1. The major problem with all the minivans with the exception of the Chevy Astro/GMC Safari is that their transmissions are weak car based transmissions/transaxles which causes failures when trying to tow anything. Outside of that, they are really practical.

  2. @blueduck9409  They aren't designed or capable of handling the constant high torque required for towing no matter how often they are serviced. The manufacturers know this which is why they set a very restricted limit on towing capacity. Example: My 2006 Ford E350 weighs less than 6000lbs but can tow more than 7000lbs while my 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan weighs 2800lbs but can't even tow 2000lbs
