  2. Unbelievable that there is no "Flight control computers offline" audible voice warning SCREECHING when they shut down. I am so glad I will never again fly in any commercial plane unless it's in an urn. Whoever is in charge of designing these deathtraps are morons.

  3. I find it quite amazing that the pilot/co-pilot didn't call in to the airport when coming in to get an update on the condition of the runway given the limited visibility and snowfall. That would be common sense from my perspective. I'm curious as to what duties the air radio operator had in addition to manning the radio.

I would find it difficult for anyone to think that the second scenario of the runway sweeper not currently being on the runway doing it's thing was the situation except for the fact that I run into situations on a daily basis where I tell a worker, who is a native English speaker, something in plain English and they can't comprehend what I just told them. It boggles my mind the number of people who can't understand simple English. 'Has been' is an activity that was initiated in the past and is currently ongoing. 'Was' is that activity was done in the past and is currently not being done.

The fun and exciting stuff can never happen while I'm on board.... 😞 Actually, I did have a flight which turned into three flights due to problems on the first two. 😎 It was the same plane on the first and second, a C5 Galaxy from Ramstein Airbase, Germany to Charleston, SC. It had the first issue, an engine problem, and did an emergency landing in Iceland. After a short layover they supposedly fixed the issue. During the second leg, the cabin got so hot, well over 106 deg F / 50 C, the attendants/cabin crew were going around and giving everyone wet towels to prevent heat stroke and made a second emergency landing in Dover, Delaware. Turns out there was an electrical fire in one of the wiring harnesses.... Another layover, 8 hours or so, and onto a different plane for the last leg.

  6. I haven't flown as a passenger since 2010 and decided a long time ago that I'd never fly again. Thanks for confirming I made a good decision. 😉
