On a special deployment, a fireteam member, who was a city slicker, tried to put one down with an AK-47 so we'd have some meat. He emptied the mag into it's head and had to reload to actually kill it. The rest of us were laughing our arses off since he was freaking out that it wouldn't die.

I think I saw a video last night of a dozen of the soldiers from the 30th Mech where they refused to man positions and the officers and NCOs were arguing amongst themselves saying they had a dozen or two dozen men left in each of their companies (normally 90-120 men) and they had no support and were almost out of supplies, including food. The men were all tired to exhaustion.

Prior to WWII, Europe, Japan, and the US where on fairly even footing and dominated manufacturing. WWII change that. That situation does not exist now, but I believe that, led by the US, the western powers are going to intentionally start a major war to attempt to repeat history.

Rob Casey I think the whole thing is unconstitutional, which the Supreme Court's opinion that it was constitutional was with the condition that the fine was so small as to be irrelevant.  Now however, the fine is becoming relevant.  So the Supreme Court needs to revisit the issue. So to answer your question, no I do not favor the fine and, in fact, believe that the whole concept needs to be buried.

A cup per gallon of water heated to near boiling and drop the rubber bits in for 10-30 minutes does the trick. Some parts will swell up but if you leave them sit overnight they return to the original size and shape and are almost as soft and resilient as new. It doesn't help if the rubber is cracked though as far as repairing the cracks.

It seems fairly obvious to me that the way to create jobs is through incentives.  Give companies more than a 100%  deduction for the cost (wages/compensation, hiring/training costs, etc) of newly created manufacturing jobs filled by American citizens (NO H1b visa holders or transient workers) over and above the current number of employees when enacted.  The latter part is to try and keep companies from replacing current employees with "new" employees.

The overwhelming use cases I have would not be viable to pay a human programmer to implement, due to extremely limited/non-existent commercial potential, and even if I did want to pay, from limited inquiries, the human programmers don't want to 'waste their time' on the coding them and come back with 'That's simple, just learn to code it yourself'. The fun and exciting stuff can never happen while I'm on board.... 😞 Actually, I did have a flight which turned into three flights due to problems on the first two. 😎 It was the same plane on the first and second, a C5 Galaxy from Ramstein Airbase, Germany to Charleston, SC. It had the first issue, an engine problem, and did an emergency landing in Iceland. After a short layover they supposedly fixed the issue. During the second leg, the cabin got so hot, well over 106 deg F / 50 C, the attendants/cabin crew were going around and giving everyone wet towels to prevent heat stroke and made a second emergency landing in Dover, Delaware. Turns out there was an electrical fire in one of the wiring harnesses.... Another layover, 8 hours or so, and onto a different plane for the last leg.

It took a lot of looking to find a reasonably priced low mileage truck that wasn't a pile of rust as I live in 'The Rust Belt'. I finally scored a 1999 Chevy 2500 with the 5.7L that had ZERO rust on the body with just surface rust on the undercarriage and a whopping 25600 miles on it. It's OK, but I'd have preferred an '70s-'80s Ford F250 but those are like hens teeth in my area.

In the US, it's a bit different with most States having property tax, thus you are renting the property from the State and also do not actually own the property. I used relatively inexpensive LED TV's build into the walls that were turned 90 degrees, framed/trimmed to to look like normal windows and fed video from cameras that were mounted on the outside of the house. The whole system is powered by a solar array with battery storage.
