  1.  @Stoney3K  When driving over long distances at night in the US I have been amazed at the distant AM radio stations I've picked up on my car stereo sometimes. Being on an Interstate highway in, say, Tennessee, and hearing a Chicago station clear as a bell for at least a half hour or so. In Virginia picking up stations from New York or Philadelphia. Used to listen to creep UFO conspiracy stuff on Art Bell's Coast to Coast AM radio show at 2 o'clock in the morning while driving through the middle of nowhere.
