  1. I've always been fascinated by the SAGE system, radar system with networked computers in the 1950s and 60s, with datalinks to F-106 fighter interceptors, it was pretty futuristic in its day and that old school tech is interesting.

  2. Whenever I see a nuclear-hardened structure like that surrounded by ordinary buildings or bucolic scenery it always creeps me out a little, knowing what that structure is supposed to withstand and that nothing else in the vicinity is protected in the event it is ever put to the test.
