  1.  @connclissmann6514  I was thinking the same thing. There is no reason LEDs have to be so cold and harsh; they come in all colors nowadays.

  2. I think Technology Connections did a video on this a few years ago explaining why the sodium lamps were replaced. I have mixed feelings about them. I agree the modern LED lamps can be pretty harsh, but back in the 80s I remember thinking the sodium lamps were kind of a sickly yellow. The streetlamps where I grew up were a softer whitish light of some sort, bright enough for us to play street hockey under but not yellowish. I wish I knew what those were, but they were probably installed in the 60s or 70s.
