  1. I have the feeling that Halsey did a Mark Clarke and went for the glory rather then following orders. In both cases it led to the deaths of many Allied soldiers and sailors.

  2. To me Leyte was a campaign not a battle and the same with the Battle of France. Waterloo was a battle and part of the 100 Days Campaign. As for America joining WW1 on the German side. The Germans were on the edge of collapse during the Passchendaele campaign and if was not for the unseasonable bad weather the war would have ended in 1917.
