  1. I had read about the fire on USS Forrestal some time ago so it has been interesting to hear you talk about WW2 fire control by the USN. One of the things that surprised me was that one of the pilots died in his aircraft which caught fire. I wondered why he did not use his ejection seat to get away from the fire. I know it would have meant him going into the sea but he surely had a better chance there in he did in his aircraft.
