  1. Not usually mentioned but the original plan had them using oars as a backup. They planned to hire an all Greek crew and row it like a trireme. There was talk of having it as a quadrireme or even a quinquereme. But someone mentioned this would mean the ship would be full of oars and seaman. And who wants a ship like that
