  3. Okay. Team name. How about we call ourselves The Professors. Having just read that I feel there is something missing. Something to express our wealth of useless information. Maybe something like "The Professors of the Nonfunctional" perhaps.

  4. There are many websites selling courses, many of which would be regarded as basic knowledge in their area of interest. In fact many YouTube channels run on that.

  5. Along with the railway the British invented to steam shovel. It didn't see much use in Britain as there was more then enough railway navvies build the railways. Also if a navvie didn't work he didn't get paid, whereas if the steam shovel didn't work it still cost the railway money. Where there steam shovel did do well was in America because there was not a big enough manpower to build the railways. You do have to wonder what the history of America would have been without the railway to unite the states together.

  6. Mark Draper We also have towns and cities which came into existence solely because of the railways,such as Crewe, Swindon and Didcot.. Many of our seaside resorts were nothing more then little villages until the railways arrived. Even some of our football teams such as Manchester United have railway roots. The original team was made up men from the Carriage and Wagon department of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway. They are one of a number of football teams with ties to the railway, such as Crewe Alexandra. Crewe's nickname is The Railwaymen..
