  1. STD's were transmitted between female patience by doctors in the same way. The doctor would examine a women who had just given birth after examining one who had an STD, thus passing it on. But the doctors assumed that it was because the women were promiscuous rather then the infection coming from their hands. As they knew how STD's were spread in the first place it makes you wonder why no doctor realised what was happening.
