  1. The Altmark's captain complained about British military aircraft flying inside Norwegian airspace while the Altmark was carrying British prisoners of war inside Norwegian waters. Not many people realise the coincidence here. Admiral Graf Spee, the man, died on 8 December 1014 during Battle of the Falkland Islands which is not far from where his namesake ship was sunk. He was attempting to make a surprise attack on the British radio station on the Falkland Islands. But he was the one who was surprised because a British squadron, including the battlecruisers HMS Invincible and Inflexible, had arrived there the day before. All four ships in his squadron were sunk.
