  3. The term stone, which is 14 pounds, comes from the simple fact that they used stones as weights. Sometimes the answers are simpler then we think.

  4. Bill and Ben the Flowerpot Men. Watched them as a kid. I knew about the claim that the industrial revolution was fuelled by the potato which did surprise me at the time. Like many such things there was more to it then that. How much has the humble potato become part of out lives? I have a recipe book with over 200 potato based recipes in it. Including potato chocolate cake. Must admit I've not tried that one.

  5. I found it interesting that nutritionists say that potatoes are not part of your five portions of fruit and vegetables per day. I think it's to stop us going around to the fish and chip shop and ordering five bags of chips.
