  1. Another very interesting video. And yes you could definitely do an entire channel based on actors who went to war. I thought of Victor Mclaughlin who fought in the Irish Fusiliers in WW 1 and went on to win the Oscar for the part of Gypo Nolan in The Informant. Fighting in the Irish Fusiliers is the closest he came to being Irish, despite his claims. He was actually English, born in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Lee Marvin who won the Oscar for Cat Ballou was in the US Marines where he was almost killed on Saipan. Am I right in thinking the highest ranking people from Hollywood were James Stewart, Brigadier General. John Ford, Rear Admiral and Ronald Reagan who, as president, became Commander in Chief.
