  1. We had similar incidents in the UK but usually on a smaller scale. One pub fight started because some white GI's were causing trouble for a black GI and a British soldier stepped in on behalf of the black soldier. One of the White soldiers decided to hit the British soldier which was a big mistake. You see if he had bothered to read the shoulder flash of this soldier's shoulder he would have read the word Commando. That would have saved him the severe beating he received. If you are wondering how tough the commandos were, fighting the Germans was an easier option.
