  2. On the death of Stalin Russia offered an olive branch to the West Eisenhower turned it down. John Foster Dulles stated that they had just gotten Europe frightened about Russia and they did not want them going back on that. Just imagine all the events since that time, all the Eastern European uprisings and all those who died because of Russian intervention. None of that would have happened. And also remember that the Korean and Vietnamese wars were backed by the Russians. How different would the world have been but for Eisenhower and Dulles intransigence with regards to Russia.
