  1. I have read about this event and the mystery of the missing crew. I had wondered if, while they were examining the oil slick, one of them had opened the door to take a better look while it was doing a low level pass. Then, whilst doing so, he had over balanced and fell out but was hanging on to part of the airship. His crewmate had tried to pull him back in but then they both fell out into the ocean.
