  1. On the 10th May 1933 Nazi-dominated student groups carried out public burnings of books they claimed were “un-German.” Amongst those works burned were the writings of beloved nineteenth-century German Jewish poet Heinrich Heine. In his 1820–1821 play Almansor he wrote "Where they burn books, they will also ultimately burn people." It is somewhat ironic that Savonarola was the one who was burnt.

  2.  @jamestheotherone742  Surely both were rejecting a culture they disapproved of. And considering what the Nazi's did to others shows that they held the lives of other cheaply as well. There may be detailed differences but over all they are very similar.
