  1. The name was given to one of the remote autonomous underwater vehicles instead. You would think someone would have pointed out the perils of underestimating British humour. They should have just given them a choice of three or four names to pick from.

  3. I remember watching a documentary about one of the Russian space stations. Apparently it was armed with a couple of cannons in case there was a clash with an American spacecraft. The Russians wanted the cosmonauts to test fire the cannons but the cosmonauts were died set against that idea. They were fearful of what might happen when the guns fired because of any potential damage it may cause to the space station from the recoil. They rigged it up so the guns could be fired remotely from earth. The guns were fired and the station was shaken about but it survived the test. I do not think this placated the cosmonauts though.
