There is, of course, the Neolithic couple who died some 6,000 years ago and were buried at what is now Mantua, Italy, 25 miles south of Verona. They were buried in each others arms, the original Romeo and Juliet perhaps. They are being described as young at the time of death but I seem to remember that life expectancy was around 32 at this time so that would not be unusual.

I should have added that in Ancient Rome they had one day a year where people would visit their relatives in the cemetery and have a picnic which included food for the departed. So the dead could join them. In Medieval England the Church did not have to pay taxes so markets were held in the cemetery so that tax did not have to be paid. Different times different traditions.
