Thanks for that. Very interesting and informative. And I had no idea the origins went back so far. As to the origins of the term Black Friday I have read about them, it was introduced to the UK several years ago and I decided to research it. One I came across was that coined by a police officer while talking to a colleague. Noting the amount of smog in the air because of all the cars he called it Black Friday. Not sure which is the actual origin of the term but that one sort of sums up the modern life. Not sure about any other country but using a credit card in the UK used to be referred to as 'paying by plastic,' rather then paper money. Ironic as if you use notes today you are also paying by plastic and we no longer use paper.
