  1. I have wondered about the idea of using something like this in Operation Market Garden using the universal carrier as the base. It would have been a lot more useful then the little tanks they were given. Though it never went into service the British Army was working on a man portable recoiless rifle which would have used the 25 pdr shell. It could be launched resting on your shoulder same way as a Bazooka. That would have been a surprise for the Germans.
