  1. Viking rarely used berserkers. Partly because there was so few of them, most because those who claimed to be berserkers were not, and partly because once they went berserk they were as much a danger to their own side as they were to the enemy. What they preferred were wolves. These were groups of warriors who fought together as a team and as such were much more effective.
