We should also note that the US military has had high level talks with their Russian counterparts where I am sure it would have been spelled out by the US the consequences of the use of any nuclear weapons. Remember also that Russia's economy is hurting very badly and they will want any sanctions lifted as quickly as possible. That will not happen if nuclear weapons are used.

  5. Wagner is no longer a force to be reckoned with so it is probably little or no threat to Ukraine. So what we are seeing is yet another one of those Red Lines which disappear when you get near them.

  6. A year on it turns out Europe did not freeze during winter but Russia did. And Ukraine has found its own answer to cutting Russia's oil output. The other thing is that Russia is heavily dependent on foreign companies to exploit its oil and gas as they do not have the ability to do this for themselves. So it Russia's oil and gas is shut down it will freeze and will take years to bring back online.
