  1. A year on it turns out Europe did not freeze during winter but Russia did. And Ukraine has found its own answer to cutting Russia's oil output. The other thing is that Russia is heavily dependent on foreign companies to exploit its oil and gas as they do not have the ability to do this for themselves. So it Russia's oil and gas is shut down it will freeze and will take years to bring back online.
