  1. It was called the Jug because that is what it looked like. A water jug. As for fire power the C Wing Spitfire carried four 20 mm cannons. Enough to ruin anyone's day. The water injector was not unique to the P-47. I believe, in fact, the Germans had already used it first on the Me-109. The P47 was an excellent aircraft. Very rugged which could take a lot of punishment and still keep flying.
