  1. The problem with getting the wealthy to pay for their own health care is that politicians will use this to reduce spending on the NHS. More and more people will then be dragged into paying for health care and that will hit those who cannot afford it. We will end up like the US where people are selling off their homes to pay for long term care. The other thing to note is that it will be the wealthy who will have shares in the private health care businesses and make money out of the poor.
