  1. Russia may be on a war footing but considering the huge number of shortages Russia is facing that is not what it seems. The Russians are so short of artillery shells they are having to buy them from North Korea. Russia is not building any new tanks. In fact Russia's efforts are directed towards repairing their existing T-72, T-80 and T-90 tanks. The problem is that Ukraine is killing these tanks faster that Russia can bring the repaired tanks bank into action. They are now so short of tanks they are having to scour their stocks for T-62 tanks which first saw service with the USSR back in 1961 and went out of service with them in 1975 to put back into service. Ben Wallace may want the job as much for the fact his old job has now got a limited life span.
