  1. Surely for China the reverse is true as far as Russia and the Ukraine is concerned. They wanted everything nice and quiet as far as the West is concerned while they eyed up an invasion of Taiwan. But instead they are seeing more sales of arms and equipment being sent to Taiwan. And the Japanese have just announced that they are to build two new large warships with a view to defending themselves against the Chinese. So Xi must be spitting feathers at this moment.
