  1. They may think they are for sound fiscal government but to often they have done the opposite. The 80s under Nigel Lawson was was a period of boom followed by bust. Let's not forget that John Major's chancellor having thrown the economy down the toilet then sat singing in his bath. The torys being a party sound fiscal government is a myth.
