  1. I read an article last year which talked about a Russian speaking Ukrainian who was born and raised in Ukraine but who thought of himself as Russian and not Ukrainian. As such he would only speak in Russian felt that he was better than the Ukrainians. Before the invasion he went to university in Moscow but there he was looked down on for not being a true Russian and therefore inferior to a true Russian. It reached a point where he left Moscow, learned Ukrainian and now feels himself a Ukrainian and not a Russian.

  3. Considering how much abuse the Russian speaking Ukrainians have been subjected to with the Russian army treating them like cannon fodder it's hard to think of them wanting to be part of Russia.
