Ukraine cannot attack Russian aircraft on the ground according to US. You'd have thought the US would have learned from Viet Nam about not attack airfields

Suchomimus did report on the other ship being sunk at the time along with the latest one today. I did notice during the latest drone attack on St, Petersburg that the Russian protected cruiser Aurora was still afloat. The way things are going the 123 year old ship may see service again.

It has been reported that Russia is having problems with artillery shells provided by North Korean. Amongst the problems these shell are having is the fact that some are exploding inside the barrels. That has got to have a huge effect on the artillery crews. It's hard enough when they are being targeted by the Ukrainians but when there is a possibility of the shell exploding inside the gun with the possibility of casualties that's bad for moral. China had a problem with something Australia said about Chinese human right, so China cancelled their import of Australian coal. The result was that China suffered a shortage of coal which meant the kept having blackouts in throughout China when they could not produce electricity by burning the coal. These resulted in China buying coal on the open market, which was more expensive, and worse still it was Australian coal they were buy.

The Belgorod mortuary has only five bodies from the crash. The same number as the crew of the Il-76. Apparently the FSB told several VIPs not to get on the aircraft. So this brings up questions such as what did they know, were they aware of the threat from Ukraine and if so why did they allow it to fly. Or was there someone elses finger on the launch button. One who spoke Russian.
27
It also looks like a nearby warehouse also got flattened and the cranes next to the Novocherkassk were also damaged.
27
I have a feeling it could be a holiday in Russia with any luck
24
If that's the cost to Ukraine just imagine what the cost to Russia is. They have lost contracts to sell oil and gas to Europe. No one want their military equipment and the Rubel is worth about 1cent.
20
So the Russian navy has just received it's new submarine, I see. And so kind of Ukraine helped with its first dive.
14
After the Hungarian leader got his wrist slapped, I noticed.
13
I'd come across that as well. Apparently he went to a meeting thinking he was going to negotiate with the other people but quickly realised he was going to get nothing and backed down.
10
Let's not forget that Ukraine has struck St. Petersburg before
10
@christerlarsson5232 I thought the Magic Puppet Dolls Show was what the Russian TV show was doing.

@larryclemens1850 Plus the very explosive content. Double win

A-10s are very good at what they do but fly alone. They need support from other aircraft to protect them from enemy aircraft, SAMs et cetera. This would mean that Ukraine would need all these extra aircraft with all the trained pilots and other crew, something they are not ready for.
7
@michaelpatish7248 That mat be true but even the lone T-34 has stopped making an appearance.
6
It looks like the the Russian Federation is falling apart so it's Russia that's being partitioned
6
I was wondering the same thing
5
Has Ukraine got a surprise for Putin on the 9th during his parade
5
And what would 500 plus British nuclear warheads do to Russia.
5
I read that one of the terminals destroyed by Ukrainian drones produced jet fuel. So could well mean a reduction if flights by Russia.
4
And how much of that expenditure is going into the pockets of senior officers and the weapons and equipment suppliers
4
The irony is that Putin wanted to to freeze Europe and Ukraine, with the wests help, is freezing Russia.
3
Sometime ago earlier in the invasion the Ukrainians got the wingtip ECM pods off an Su-34 which they passed onto Britain and the US. Information recovered from those pods is being used to jam the Russian ECMs which is why Ukraine is now able to shoot down Russian aircraft.
2
Someone looked at the flightpath for this aircraft and it started off in Iran, which means it was not carrying Ukrainian POWs and probably was ,as Ukraine claimed, carrying missiles.
2
When you look at the casualty figures it worth remembering that the Russian population has been in decline since WW2 and is now only about 50% bigger than the population of France. So you can imagine what an impact these loses will have. And before the invasion of Ukraine its economy was the same size as that of Italy. What with all the sanctions and the end of the gas and oil exports to Europe Russia's economy will be well below that of Italy.
2
The Russians have never got that NATO is for the defence of the West. During the Cold War the Soviets/Russians became convinced that this was all a bluff and that NATO was going do the attacking. So their plans changed and they set up a defensive line in Poland to stop NATO, sacrificing East German and Polish forces, and then they would counter attack.
2
During WW2 the Russians came up with the Ratio of attackers to defenders of 3/1, a ratio which is still in use today. So you will need 3000 attackers if your enemy has 1000 defenders in order to win. This means that if Ukrainian defenders have 100,000 casualties and the Russia's have over 300,000 casualties then something is very wrong with the way Russia is fighting this war.

 @nurseSean Very True.

Also include timestamps.

Russia is so great it cannot even get its own gas and oil out of the ground. It needs the 'evil' West to do it for them. And for the record Europe is already made up of countries. I know there has been cutbacks in Russian education, those super yachts don't pay for themselves, but you would think even Russians must know this
1
So each drone costs $375,000 each. This at a time Russia's economy is being bankrupted and Russians cannot keep their homes warm. Not what you'd call value for money.

Blogger Sergey Kolyasnikov is claiming that Russian defence officials and bureaucrats are deliberately withholding information from him about the state of the war in Ukraine. They are working with all the regional news outlets to stop any negative information getting to the top. If this is correct then Putin has no idea as to the true extent of Russian losses and how poorly the Russian military is performing. So his idea that Russia can get parts of Ukraine and the rest of the world would be fine with it is all based on false information he is being fed by his own people.

The Soviets had a plan to take back Alaska by invasion. They knew that the early warning system in Alaska was not protected against NBC attack and planned to knock them out before invading. Fortunately a spy in Russia working for America informed the US and the sites were upgraded.
1
The fact they cannot even get this to work how they going to win a war.
