  1. The people of Taiwan may be Chinese in origin but they are now saying the feel more Taiwanese. And having seen what China did to Hong Kong they do not wish to suffer the same fate. China has shown that it cannot be trusted. So why would the Taiwanese want to become part of China. Historically lots of parts of the world belonged to other parts of the world but are now independent. No one is suggesting they return to the countries they were once part of. It is time china did the right and recognise that Taiwan does not want to be part of China and as an independent country.
