I have always wondered about the pistol grip as, compared to others, it is a rather odd angle. Then while watching this video I realised that is about where you would hold it if it had a stock as with a rifle. So the question is why would you do that? It's not like pistol grips were unknown. It seems an odd thing to do.

An idea for a book. The role of the shed in human history. That's got to be a book worth reading.

Some of the guns used by the Storm Troopers in the first Star Wars were replica MG34 so why not have these as well. Having said that they look more steampunk then Star Wars. Or that hunter Van Pelt in the original Jumanji.

It does have a safety of sorts. If you look at the instructions it says 1) Pull the trigger 2) Be no where near it when it goes off. 3) After the battle come back and reload. 4) If it does not fire leave it about a week before returning. So the same instruction as you get with fireworks really

This may have meant he was elected by a board of directors or, more likely, just some fancy way of saying he works for us now.

I have met people like Humeston. Amazingly talented people. Interestingly when people talk about why they cannot build engines like they used on the Saturn rockets it's because they had people like him building them. It's not that we cannot build those engines any more, it's because when they left the knowledge of how they were built went with them.

How to distract your opponent. Lesson one. Kick him in the balls. Lesson two. See lesson one.
64
See, YouTube money isn't what it used to be.

What the Sten could have been given more time. Now Ian's mentioned Terry Pratchett I could imagine him wandering round the Unseen University dressed as a wizard
47
They've seen all of them so not quite
40
You would have to make damn sure you were pointing it at the right people. Once you pull that trigger there's no going back.
30
Rather a nice looking revolver. I can see why the Russians liked it.
27
Late Japanese rifles were so poor that with the bayonet attached they were basically a spear. Which was what they were going for.
26
There is a rumour he has been known to do rap as well. Scary 😱
23
My thoughts as well.
21
It's called commerce. Been around for some time now.
21
@spitefulwar As long as something more substantial then a cuckoo pops out.🐤
18
knye Just make sure it isn't loaded first.

Actually half your fellow countrymen, and women, are tea drinkers. Once they got the hang of it, and realised you did not need to throw it into Boston Harbour to get the best flavour, they quite took to drinking tea. Me. I am British but I am with you on the coffee. Unless it's Earl Grey tea of course. 👍😄
16
She was very fortunate. There were families with more sons then that and none came back.
15
As Russia is using T-72s, T-80s and T-90s all of which are from the Soviet era, technically you could call them Soviet tanks. Or Soviet era tanks.
15
The future Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill owned one of these. Now that one would be worth some money.
14
You grab the Lewis Gun

What can be better then sitting in a warm room. In a warm house. Drinking hot coffee. And watch a guy from Arizona crawling around in the snows of Finland. And can I just point out that laying there in the snow your fingers getting frostbite is the least of your worries. There are other appendages where frostbite would be more of a worry.
13
As the British Royal Navy had divisions of Royal Marines fighting in France during WW1 it would be interesting to know if they carried on with the Mk1** or changed to the Mk3 as used by the British Army, as this would make supplying ammunition easier.
13
Look on the bright side. If this was China you would have been probed in a different part of your body. Which would mean you would have recorded this standing up.
12
@lordsummerisle87 The British Army bought about 10,000 AR15/M16's with many of them going to the Gurkhas. Because of the Gurkhas smaller stature it was a better weapon for them to use rather then the much longer and heavier FN SLR. And yes the British did buy them before the US Army. In fact I believe the US Airforce issued the M16 before the US army did.
12
That was the most interesting 'show and tell' ever
12
I thought that as well. Then again looking at his facial hair he may be one of those who fought with the French.
11
It also shows that being a much warmer climate there was not reason to have a chamber pot under the bed as they could use the outhouse any time of the year. During WW2 a popular image printed at the bottom of the chamber pot, or Gazunda (because it 'goes under' the bed), was a photograph of Adolf Hitler. I'll leave the reason why it appeared there to you.
11
I know the fashion industry is cutthroat but I had not realised they needed squad support weapons.
11
The mans a leg end in his own lunchtime. I think I may have gotten that wrong.😮
11
My thoughts as well
11
Having already watched the next video with the German mortar I have to say that this one was designed by someone who had the end user in mind. Light and simple to use, just what your average soldier wants.
10
Ghost in the machine
10
@RedOrm68 Technical term. It mean the excrement and the fan have made contact.
10
@mor4y Half of Americans drink tea and many of those own guns. So you may need a different starting point for your idea
10
A man of many talents.
10
@john-paulsilke893 May be best not to mention that in the ads. Keep it to the small print. You know. The one where you need a microscope.
10
As, I assume like you, I have neither the knowledge nor the inclination to learn anything about Pokemon. I'll stick to SMLE's.
9
@Taistelukalkkuna I think your confusing things with the present day. 😊

Oh, the joys of having a shed. Or, in the US, the joys of having a garage. You can make things like this. Looking at the quality of the woodwork it struck me that it has been adapted from an existing gun. Also at the beginning of the video I did wonder about it having curved barrels unless there was something I missed. It would be interesting if the maker could be found, who knows with the Internet, as it would be fascinating to learn more about it.
8
There would be the slight problem of suddenly stopping in the middle of a fight to attach a barrel. It would be somewhat problematic as well as being inconvenient. Besides which if you are standing toe to toe with someone I think the lack of a barrel would not be a worry.
8
The Swiss Army Knife of street fighting. Looking at the quality I'd have to say it does not look like the sort of thing you would expect to see owned by someone from a street gang. It looks more like the sort of thing a gentleman might carry in his pocket to defend himself while out at night. Especially in the more rougher neighborhoods which were frequented by 'women of negotiable affection' shall we say. As an afterthought. I wonder why he does not test these on the range?
7
Nice to be able to know something about the original user of such an item. The 1919 offensive. From the information I have read this foreshadowed many aspects of WW2 with a the additional use of paratroopers being dropped into the rear of the German lines. That would have changed the face of future combat immensely.
6
Not something you would personally want to test.
6
Wonder what happened to the ones bought by the UK.
6
This channel is better then many gun encyclopedias. I have read about the MG 13 but it was one photograph and a sentence or two.
6
And I thought I was the only one thinking that. Is it worrying when the voice in your head has a lisp? Just asking for a friend.
6
Doesn't quite have the same ring to it.
