  1. It also shows that being a much warmer climate there was not reason to have a chamber pot under the bed as they could use the outhouse any time of the year. During WW2 a popular image printed at the bottom of the chamber pot, or Gazunda (because it 'goes under' the bed), was a photograph of Adolf Hitler. I'll leave the reason why it appeared there to you.
