If they had done what they did with later rifles and made that section out of steel the problem would have been solved. In WW1 a British sniper had a German soldier in his sights but decided not to shoot him. I wonder whatever happened to Gefrieter Adolf Hitler. Fortunately training has been improved since then and now British snipers do pull the trigger.
