  1. The UK has no bail bond system. Defendants are assess by a judge and if there is no problem with the defendant not showing up then that person is out on bail. I am not saying the system is flawless, no system like this is, but it works. And if the defendant is held in prison because they cannot afford bail you have to ask how much it costs to keep a defendant in prison. More then the amount the Lederman brothers have paid to kill the pilot scheme.
