I had wondered why the flying wing, or flying wing type, had not become reality yet, so that has helped explain much. Thanks I see the Boeing 737 Max has yet another problem. Debris has been found in the fuel tanks of some aircraft. It will, apparently, take three days to inspect each aircraft because they will need to drain the fuel tanks and dissipate the vapours before the fuel tank can be opened.

Super Constellation is definatelly one of, if not the, most beautiful aircraft ever built. The problem with pilots back then was that they were the ones in command, something left over from the fact that many were ex-military pilot, and that they would brook no interference from anyone. It took many years, and deaths, before this attitude would change.

@emergencylowmaneuvering7350 Back then, as you know, such aircraft needed a four man crew. Pilot, copilot, a flight engineer and a navigator. Same as a four engined bomber of that period. And it took all four of them to fly it.
