I like the way Tiffany calls it the "CCP Virus" without any sense of irony.

Very impressed with Kerry Gershaneck ! First time I've seen him interviewed. Bradley Thayer also excellent as always. Great interview Tiffany. Thanks

News about China gets more depressing every day. Fight on though !

"Separate yourself from immorality" To know what is immoral you need to have some comparisons to make. Educate yourself on contemporary Chinese history and the CCP.
10
They are not stupid. Chinese have always known that the CCP officials are corrupt and immoral. They are just powerless to act against such an evil slave master and know fully well the consequences if they do.
9
@KevinPhillips_kw No, they are not cowards. The HK protestors proved this. These were kids who barely knew how to throw a stone but gave the CCP military police the runaround.
8
Probably why none of the troops were reaching out for the boxes and preferred to wave. They should have workshopped this pantomime beforehand.
8
Its the madness of Xi Jinping, a man who has a Phd in Marxist theory and education. He probably thinks this time its going to be different. Nah
8
I heard there is talk of hosting an unofficial alternative to the Beijing winter Olympics in Utah... sounds like a good idea. That way, the athletes will no have wasted their time training.
8
They are a rude bunch of bastards, but the letter from the Mayor of Prague district Reporyje, Pavel Novotny to Chinese diplomat Wang Yi, reminds me of some of the responses I get from disgruntled Antifa/Black Lives Matter activists in the Youtube comments section, when I call them out for being antisocial arseholes.
7
You won't have to. Beijing will cancel it.
6
Ok, its time to start planning a new venue for the winter Olympics before its too late. And the winner is ......... drum roll UTAH !
6
That's true, and it wasn't meant to be ironic either.
4
But sadly, like the Nazis, they will bring the country down with them.
4
I think you'll find the PLA are not as unified as Beijing says. Over the past five years, there have been major purges, including executions of some generals who the CCP deemed disloyal. The is a sure way to breed malcontent, however the fear factor is also powerful. Stalin did exactly this and only managed to avoid a coup because the Germans were dumb enough to invade.
3
CCP attempts at coercion are becoming more common because its failing more often. The world is building up antibodies to the CCP virus... another type
3
@11Megane23 If she stops China invading Taiwan through deterrence, she deserves a Nobel Prize for "keeping the Peace".
3
@Old Soul China's demographic will do what Japan's has done. Eventually it will start to drop naturally and the population will become top heavy. (older)
3
Happy, the word is kowtow 磕头 Derived form the Cantonese word "kau tau".
2
God has nothing to do with it. Firstly there is no god, and secondly, its the brave people who are prepared to stand up to the CCP, most of whom are are Chinese. Communism is doomed for all time once it disappears in China .. apart from University campuses and the Democratic party of course. Otherwise, gaaawn!
2
Ted said it. The new Evil Empire.
2
Is that a security ankle bracelet on Meng Wanzhou ? Not a bad idea. They should put them on all Chinese diplomats.
2
If the CCP weren't complaining, that WOULD be something to worry about in Australia.
2
Hey Olympians ! If you go to the Olympics in Beijing this year and I ever have the misfortune of meeting you face to face in the future, don't be surprised if I refuse to shake your hand and call you by a rude word. The CCP's crimes are now well documented so you can't claim ignorance.
2
There is no such thing as a Statute of Limitations on unlawful killing ... in this world anyway. Ideally he would face his accusers here first.
2
Not really. They managed sell half their country to the fuckers and elect a stupid president who thinks its still 1989.
2
Thank goodness for the ancient Greeks. They gave us democracy and much else.
2
That was weird seeing a guy smoking while being interviewed.
2
Its like Traditional Chinese Medicine. Those who study and become qualified in it, have effectively learnt nothing.
2
Thank god for Scott Morrison. This deal with the CCP on the BRI was brokered by a dopey Premier named Daniel Andrews of Victoria. The man has tin ear.
2
@carlosviajes Sooner the better
1
@ThZuao You are absolutely correct. There is even a book called "Unrestricted Warfare" written by 2 Chinese PLA guys, Qiao Liang (乔良) and Wang Xiangsui (王湘穗), who describe this in detail. Their sinister strategy has been used against every country that allows them the freedom we allow for ourselves.

@nadeembutt7365 I find them to be sweet

The world has found a new hero in Holger Chen.

Thanks Tiffany !

Tiffany ... my favourite China expert !

Fact check. The NZ government of the day, in 1987, under David Lange (Labor Party) never received any money to entice them to ban nuclear armed and powered ship and thereby go "green". However, seven years prior to this in 1980, the New Zealand government under Sir Robert Muldoon (National Party) ordered the Soviet Union‘s ambassador, Vsevolod Sofinsky, to leave the country within 72 hours after he allegedly delivered money to the pro-Soviet Socialist Unity Party (SUP) in 1980. In 1987, another Soviet diplomat, Sergei Budnik, was ordered to leave the country by Prime Minister David Lange for his alleged involvement with the party. This is maybe what Rick Fisher is referring to.

China just can't help itself. Generation after generation are poisoned by the perverted social science coming from Beijing. I don't think the west actually needs to do very much to curb China's influence. It will eat its own, as it did in the cultural revolution and has been doing periodically for 50 years.
1
Annalena Baerbock looks hot ! ... I mean, for a German.
1
Can I call it? China is f*cked until they get rid of the commies.

Here's a good overview. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSc3TPB_Zvo

@klchai7884 I get the feeling you don't like us. Were your parents first cousins by any chance?
1
Someone should tell the CCP not to waste their time propagating their official (mis)information towards free countries. We know everything they say is a lie and that the CCP is rotten to the core.
1
Unfortunately it will be ordinary Chinese people who will end up paying for the CCP incompetence and corruption ... as they always have. Forget the idea of China paying you. The priority will be to feed the Chinese people in the future.
1
@mrkey1003 whoever they were fighting, it was a brave thing to do.
1
Total perversion of justice has happened before. Do the Fascists in China realise they are players in a re-run? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKOCmBXrVY8
1
...so say you are a corrupt CCP official and you put your name in the hat to get elected in a rigged election. You want the win but don't. Surely you'd be thoroughly pissed off and demand a fair election next time. Could this be the slippery slope that the CCP has put one foot on? To have an election at all is tempting fate. Elections are powerful things and a jilted candidate can become a thorn in the side of undeserving winners and powerful, albeit in a perverted electoral system.
1
..and they definitely do bad things to each other in China. More than any other Asian country. Compare to Japan where there's almost no street crime.
1
@Xi_Jinping_is_Pooh well no one expects much from the Chinese, but I thought Prague was a city of refinement and culture. This guy is using language more suitable for roasting his brother-in-law for stealing his chainsaw.
1
Emperor Xi As I said, you shouldn't expect the Chinese diplomats to act graciously. However, these people should understand they operate in a world of real politik, where petty offences need to be ignored and calling them out is pointless and counter productive. The Mayor lost any moral high ground which might have served him well if there was to be another round. He also presented a divided front by calling his own president, Milos Zeman insane. Maybe he is, but Novotny shouldn't say it publicly to a Chinese diplomat.
