  3. Both the Chinese and Russian trolls often indignantly ask for "proof". They are invariably poorly educated and undisciplined history "experts". The proof argument is a trap because it steers the dialogue away from ethics, and intent, which they are also weak on. The only proof a Russian might agree on, is that there is a war and one side is resisting the other with deadly force, people are dying in huge numbers and the invading force is lead by a man, who people in the west, regard as nothing better than a mobster. There is ample evidence to support this thesis. What they should be asking for is a convincing argument based on international law, history, politics, culture and everything else. Either way, its a dead end. Good call not to go on his stupid show.

  6. Stalin's accent was an outsider Georgian voice. In David Reynold's documentary "Man of Steel" he quoted a British wartime interpreter who likened it to "Wigan Pier, Lancashire" and slightly ridiculous.

  8. I'm going hazard a guess and say that Putin is no longer in control of the war or Russia. It is more likely a group of hardened nationalists and criminals who are exploiting the military funding for their own gain. They want to end the war but don't know how, so it will probably end suddenly and without any warning, the same way it did in 1917 in order to defeat domestic opponents. The only explanation for an incompetent drunk like Valery Vasilyevich Gerasimov to be still employed is to give the appearance of continuity and stability of the the Putin "regime". These people have told Putin to put on a brave face ... or they'll kill him. The leadership of Russia probably changed around the time Prigozhin led his march towards Moscow and was warned off by the new guard. Putin's threats against Prigozhin hit home with a group of elites within the Russian Army so they took action not against Prigozhin, but against Putin, as he was seen as weak. They later murdered Prigozhin, along with an innocent flight crew, so the truth could be suppressed and as a warning to others .. for a while. Zelensky feels he can curse Putin freely, knowing he is no longer capable of personal retaliation.

There is obviously something wrong with the man, just as there was something wrong with Hitler and Stalin. Mao too.
