  2. The biggest April fools joke ... is all the American's delusionally believing they are going to blow all the teams in group B out of the water. When team USA in all likelihood will finish dead last, below third placed Iran and whichever other British team (Wales/Scotland) qualify in second. That England will top the group should go without saying. Our only real tricky games should be the other home nation team.

  3. ​ @AW-zk5qb  The likes of baseball, basketball or hockey are far less popular in England than "soccer" is in the USA. The American sports you mentioned are probably not even in the top 20 most popular sports in England and would be somewhere far below the likes of even Darts and Hopscotch.

The England vs America game is scheduled for the American Thanksgiving holiday (which was all about England vs America) ... and Group B is set to also feature another British team between either Scotland vs Wales (I don't believe Ukraine will be qualifying). Not to mention USA vs Iran (with their stormy political past).

USA hardly ever qualify for the World Cup and when they do, are rarely opponents with England. We haven't played USA often enough in genuine competitions for them to be considered rivals.

Baseball = Rounders (a schoolyard game played by kids), Basketball = Netball with dribbling (a game played only by schoolgirls), American Football = Rugby with OTT safety padding and armour (you do realise how needlessly silly and childish that looks to Rugby players, right?)

  16. For real though, lets speak plain facts for a moment ... Christian Pulisic, team USA's star player, would be VERY lucky to even make it into England's WC 2022 squad, let alone start. Anything can happen in a one-off cup game, that's true. However, on paper, this England team should (barring any weird fluke of misfortune) blow this USA team out of the water. This is the international equivalent of a Man City vs a Norwich (and I'm actually being kind there, by comparing USA to an EPL team (yo-yo though they may be), rather than a mid-to-lower Championship side, which is much more realistic). Can a minnow like the USA fluke a victory over this England side? Anything is possible, but you're gonna need like a thousand 5-leaf clovers, 12 rabbit feet, and about 7,000 Hail Mary's to do so.
