You should never keep a player that wants to leave. And apparently, he did. He wasn't patient enough to work his way back into the starting 11 and wants regular first team football. Overall, it's a decent transfer, so long as Villa re-invest it well. The club have been pretty good at finding decent deals in recent history. £50m could go a long way.
