  1. They're probably hoping that if Rashford performs well at Villa for the remainder of this season, they'll be able to get a higher permanent transfer fee from another European club in the summer. From Villa's point of view, they likely view the player as a temporary stop-gap, cover up front with the recent departure of Duran, until Villa sign a permanent forward more suited to Emery's system next season. Suits both clubs right now, so why not?
