Wouldn't they just have a fixed wire like most electrical devices?

@Le-Cardinal No it wouldn't, you could replace the cable. Anyway usually such a cable wouldn't break. I have almost never thrown away a device in my life because of a broken cable, usually something else breaks first.

@Le-Cardinal I bet most would throw the wireless charger away Quite a deluded answer imo. Wired appliances are still everywhere and the most used ones, many/most people charge their phone through a socket or a computer plugged into a socket. How else would you use a wireless charger? Using another wireless charger for that charger? And then what? And why would you use a wireless charger if you have a goddamn wire to plug it in? Why would a company (like apple) choose not to have wired charging to avoid usb-c only to have it use a wireless charger using usb-c? You entire argument doesn't make any common sense.

@Le-Cardinal Most people charge using a charger with a USB-A or USB-C connector, an adapter cable is used to create the lightning/USB micro-B/USB-C connector which is inserted in the device. Adds nothing to our discussion. If you want to have a wireless charger, you still need the charging compinent, a pad with the RF for charging where you put your phone and a cable to connect the two. You don't need a cable to connect the too with wireless charging, you just need to plug the wireless charger into a socket and place the phone on the wireless charger. Are you even sure you are understanding the concept of wireless charging (ie. no wire between the phone and the charger)? What wireless charging device are you using?
