@reignman30 The democratic party movement isn't as easy as "they moved left" imo, quite the contrary on most impactfull policies. They mostly moved right on socio-economic policies, but went into the extreme regarding identity politics. Even on things like immigration etc they moved more to the right.

I don't agree that this is due to the change of the parties, rather Trump saw more political chances as a republican than democrat. Elon clearly shifted to the right in his stances in the past few years (I believe this started with his economic views and then also on his social views). Gabbard was imo always a bit between the 2 parties. Don't know enough about RFK to speak about him. The republicans basically moved right on almost everything, but also went bigger into populism (at least the Trumpist wing), thus appealing to the working class more, eventhough the working class isn't helped by the republican policies. The democrats moved right on all important socio-economic policies to appeal to "moderate republicans", but extreme left on identity politics, which imo is a pretty self destructing bland that ensures moving away from the working class people, becoming a bit the opposite of being populist. And the identity politics also chase away the moderate republicans that might be fine with the socio-economic right shift as seen in them gaining no ground with moderate republicans in the past few elections.
